Rapid Agency is a creative design studio located in Belfast that pushes boundaries and ideas to transform them into powerful campaigns and brands. Their “No Red Tape” approach to briefs allows for pure creative freedom, concept driven designs and no fear. Rapid guides clients from start to finish as this is evident through their creative and efficient outcomes and environment. When visiting Ulster University, they preached their development process and primary focus of understanding and researching the briefs. This was inspiring due to their hands own approach and team working efforts that creates, and problem solves to result in a fast forward and innovative brands. Rapid works for a range of clients, one being Dougies Goodies which was insightful to see how they approached this brief during the visit. This brand identity is fresh, joyous and vibrant which reflects the bakery’s growth and passion and excitement. The colour palette features the original pink which adds a modern and sweet essence to the brand which creates a familiar atmosphere, embracing heritage and consumer connections. The type used has soft and friendly elements to represent the baked goods and decorative sprinkles and piping toppings, which adds a creative touch.
Another innovative project I found compelling was “Pure Purrs”, a family owned and eco-friendly cat litter. This brand effectively stands out amongst competitors which is evident through the extensive research to identify what makes Pure Purrs different. The outcome included a mascot named “Kitter” which created a personality for the brand, building a foundation for design decisions. The typography and colour palette are both playful, bold and vibrant which correlates to the target audience of Gen-Z, paired with illustrations adding a fun and upbeat approach to cat litter. This design reimagined this category which created a more enjoyable and fresh result; all stemming from Rapid’s “No Red Tape” angle.
